چکیده
The objective of this study is to develop an innovative system assess the risk pests using a fuzzy logic approach. designed provide farmers with index representing estimate presence Western Flower Thrips (WFT), Frankliniella occidentalis in roses greenhouse. For purpose, modular knowledge-based decision support has been designed. major findings our research are summarized four points. First all, model based on variables measured automatically via sensors and do not require human activity (damaged area leaf, sex ratio). Secondly, as only oriented toward experimentation centers but also farmers, phenomenon manual counting could be replaced by predicted value. In addition, novelty associated that it supplies daily rather than weekly WFT level. so doing, stay aware influence weather conditions its evolution. Finally, beneficial help reduce utilization pesticides decrease percentage production loss, due continuous monitoring level Because development F. highly sensitive climate change, order enhance assessment pest risk, approach, which combines data related type rose, duration sunlight meteorological conditions, was followed. Simulation results displayed at end validate

Feeding by the western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande), causes damage to the fruits of vegetables, and the species is the key vector of Tomato spotted wilt virus . Frankliniella tritici (Fitch) and Frankliniella bispinosa (Morgan) are not pests of fruiting vegetables. Both species compete with F. occidentalis . Effective management of F. occidentalis in pepper integrates co...
متن کاملCan Mass Trapping Reduce Thrips Damage and Is It Economically Viable? Management of the Western Flower Thrips in Strawberry
The western flower thrips Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is a cosmopolitan, polyphagous insect pest that causes bronzing to fruit of strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa). The main aim of this study was to test whether mass trapping could reduce damage and to predict whether this approach would be economically viable. In semi-protected strawberry crops, mass trapping...
متن کاملIntegrated pest management in western flower thrips: past, present and future
Western flower thrips (WFT) is one of the most economically important pest insects of many crops worldwide. Recent EU legislation has caused a dramatic shift in pest management strategies, pushing for tactics that are less reliable on chemicals. The development of alternative strategies is therefore an issue of increasing urgency. This paper reviews the main control tactics in integrated pest m...
